Recreational Activity
A short story by Louie Delk
Run and play, run and play, that was what the Riolu did every day, since she did not know any better. She was a small Pokémon, whose appearance was similar to that of a dog, whose colors was black and blue, and stood upright on her feet. Now, as you have seen just a few sentences ago, she was a playful and innocent Pokémon, and one who did not care exactly how or where she enjoyed herself, but only that she had fun.

And that is how she managed to get herself into mischief one day. This Riolu just happened to be playing on Route 27 of her home region, Kanto. But little did she know, the patch of grass she was playing in next to the cabin of his caretaker was the hiding place for much stronger, larger, and more powerful Pokémon then what the Riolu was used to seeing.

But none of that mattered to him, because she did not know. She ran into the patch of tall grass all the same, chasing a caterpie that was crawling in the general direction. And of course, she loved it in the grass, and lost all interest in the small worm Pokémon. She bounded around, jumping up and down to peek her head over the tall grass, causing it to shake and rustle, and possibly attract the attention of the unhappy tenants of the “lawn.”

And, a purple cobra Pokémon hissed, quiet enough so that the Riolu did not notice him, but in great enough of a volume to give itself an extra push, for a purpose unknown to the happy puppy Pokémon.

And the Riolu still played. She began to pick the grass, uprooting it at the pace of a single blade at a time. This is fun! She thought to herself, while she uprooted the grass one blade at a time. She continued doing this for a while, until she noticed a small purple patch of a smooth surface. What is this? The Riolu thought, as she reached out her blue paw to touch the smooth surface. But, being the curious pup she was, the Riolu did not stop with just touching it, she bit into the flesh of Arbok.

The snake Pokémon screeched. First of all, it was surprised that the Riolu had found its position; second of all, it was surprised that such a small Pokémon could bite so hard. The snake began to thrash and attempted to coil around the small blue pup, but failed to as she was latched firmly to the side of its head.

This is awesome! The pup thought to herself, as she grinned, while still holding herself firmly in place to the side of the cobra’s head. No matter how violently the snake thrashed, the pup held on, not for dear life, but simply to enjoy the moment. She eventually became even more curious, and snuck a lick of the exposed inner flesh of the Arbok. Wow, the Riolu thought, it even tastes awesome!

That was when the Arbok decided it had enough. With one swift and powerful movement, the snake lurched its head back, and tossed the small pup flying against a rock face across on the other side of the patch of grass. But, the Riolu did manage to tear a considerable chunk of the Arbok’s head off, causing a great amount of agony to the snake.
A blinding flash of light burst from the place that the Riolu landed, and a guttural roar sounded as well. “That was not nice!” A powerful but feminine voice growled, as a Lucario stood up in the grass. She was now a good 5’8” tall, a height that was enough to match Arbok in its current position. She then began to walk towards the snake, which was paralyzed with fear.

The Arbok began to shiver, as it looked upon the upright wolf that started to approach it. A darker and coarser fur seemed to form a mask around her face, and her tall ears stood up, high and alert. The rest of her body was far more muscular as befre. Her chest and torso were now yellow, with a spike protruding from between her two pectoral muscles. She also appeared to be wearing a pair of navy blue pants. That did not matter to the snake though, as it could sense its approaching demise.

The now fully grown Lucario walked right up to the snake, which in a last-ditch effort, revealed the pattern on its stomach. “Do you really think that scares me?” the dog asked, as she grabbed the snake’s neck with her right hand. “Well then,” she continued, “It appears that you are wrong.” She gave the Arbok a toothy grin, and then ran her tongue across her teeth. “I think it is about time I pull a role reversal!”

The next day, a teenage trainer named Louie walked up Route 27, as he was nearing the end of his Pokémon adventure, and preparing to fight the elite four, and hopefully the champion. However, his team consisted of only five solid Pokémon,  a Charizard, a Florges (Caught at Mt Silver), a Chesnaught (Caught at Mt Silver), a Dragonite (Previously owned by Claire), and a Blastoise (caught in a trip to Kalos). But when he saw the bare skeleton of an Arbok, and a Lucario whose stomach was slightly bloated, and her entire upper half caked in dried blood, he could not resist assessing the situation.

“Hey,” the boy called to the Lucario, “I am in need of another party member, and I wondered, would you like to join me on my journey?”

That caused the dog to perk up, and rise to meet the trainer. “Um, sure,” She responded, caught off guard by the request. “But why did you ask me, of all Pokémon, to join you?” The Lucario asked.

“Well,” Louie began to explain, looking in the direction of the bare snake skeleton, “I cannot help to notice that you devoured an entire Arbok, minus the bones, and you look like you enjoy the heat of battle.”

That caused the Lucario to grin a bit. “Well you are right.” She responded to the boy. “And that Arbok, by the way, was the most delicious thing I have eaten up to this point in life.”

“So what should I call you by?” Louie asked the Pokémon.

That also caught the Lucario’s attention. This was the first time a trainer had offered to take her on his journey, and she had never really thought of herself by any real name. “You know what,” She told the boy, “Just call me Riley.”

And that is how the bond was formed between Louie and the Lucario. And she continues to be a key member of his team to this day. She is naïve by nature, and is skilled in the attacks Crunch, Bullet Punch, Auras Sphere, and the Swords Dance.
This is my first character bio, and hopefully not my last. And this is somewhat based on one of my real in-game Lucarios. (The story is made up, but the moves and name are real) I would really appreciate if you could leave a comment with future advice on works like this (by the way, there is a little bit of gore in here, just an authors warning. There is not enough that I would really call this mature).
